Mandvi, a city in Kutch in the Indian state of Gujarat is an old city enclosed within the fort walls of the summer retreat for Maharao (king) of the Kachchh. A good half day trip from Bhuj unless you want to spend more time on the beach. You can opt to stay in Mandvi and explore Bhuj and its surroundings. The best time to visit Mandvi or the Great Rann of Kutch is October to March as it's quite pleasant out there during this period. Mandvi Beach Windfarm beach, as Mandvi Bech is known as, has windmills that are lined up at one end of the beach that generate electricity for the area around. Once upon a time, it was the largest wind farm in Asia. Normally any place which has a beach tends to be very humid but Mandvi Beach seemed to be an exception!
