How to earn a few dollars when traveling?

Traveling and working at the same time is a great way to see the world without becoming broke. Find out what options you have.

1. Give private lessons

If you’ve never had an experience of being a tutor, then this is your lucky chance. This is how many experts at Manhattan Barber Shop started making their first money. Giving private lessons is the most common way to earn a few dollars when traveling. If you can’t teach anything specific, then you can always sell your English skills.

2. Become a foreign speaker

If you’re traveling to non-English speaking country, consider an idea of becoming a speaker there. Many educational establishments crave for native speakers so that students have a possibility to practice their language and improve their skills. You can give lectures about American traditions, holidays, values, etc. Just be creative!

3. Demonstrate your talents

Are you good at painting? Is your singing breathtaking? Do you play the guitar like a pro? Or maybe you have cool shaving skills after working at Manhattan Barber Shop? People must see your talents, and the best way to demonstrate them is to perform in the street. Be careful, though, and don’t break the local laws about excessive noise!

4. Find job at famous resorts

If you are not far from famous resorts, you can try to find a temporary job there. Owners of restaurants and hotels always need additional help, especially during the hot seasons. Tasks can be very versatile, so prepare yourself for everything!

Keep these ideas in mind, and you’ll be alright!

Travel Diary: Sanjay Gandhi National Park

The Sanjay Gandhi National Park or Borivali Park whatever you wanna call it, is one of the most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries in the world. All because, it is spread across over 104 sq. km. and also because it  is the only park in the world located completely within a city limits, which is also rich in biodiversity.   To most Mumbaikars like me, the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) brings back the old memories of our childhood when our parents would take us to the park on a Sunday for a jungle safari or just an excursion to the famed Kanheri Caves (Note: they are around 2400 years old!) and not to forget those amazing school picnics. Alas, as I've grown up to be a teen, and through these years, places such as these have only remained confined to my memories. A visit to the National Park on a Tuesday, as part of my college's Environmental Visit, was to me as much about going back and living those memories again. It was about exploring the lesser known areas of the par

Mumbai? How does it feel through the eyes of a Mumbaikar?

Photograph: Maciej It's said Bombay is not a city it's a feeling…. But our good friends at Shiv Sena just wanted it changed to Mumbai… Well, that's just another story, 'Mumbai' hasn’t changed… People are the same, food is the same… and Mumbai is still a feeling that's loved to be felt… So, you're here to see Mumbai through my eyes, right? If you’re a Mumbaikar ( As we call ourselves! ) you may pretty much relate with every small stuff I need to tell about the city. And if you’ve never been to Mumbai… I’m pretty sure you'll be able to experience the thrills it has to offer just by following along. Mumbai to a majority of you is the capital of the State of Maharashtra or just the financial capital of India, Mumbai boasts of a population of over 20 million with people from different parts of the world calling it their home, just like me… Well, you may see me mention "me" a lot… cause I'm honestly a self-obsessed person. Let’s se
